Announcing the EClet: ECDSA for the BeagleBone Black

The EClet is now available on Tindie! Like the Hashlet, this is a mini-cape that adds an authentication chip to your BeagleBone. However, the chip on the board is an upgrade. It’s Atmel’s ATECC108 which performs the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm in the hardware.

The board layout is slightly modified from the Hashlet. The cutout is there so you can still attach to the unused pins on the P9 expansion header. I also add a 0.1uF bypass capacitor for good measure. Otherwise, like the hashlet, it communicates over I2C and no special device tree configuration is required.

The previous blog post walks through how to use and setup the device.
